Three Main Toolboxes
There are three main toolboxes on the M.A.Ch.10/100:
Cable
Toolbox
,
Station
Health
and
Network
Discovery
. Clicking on one of these takes you into each submodule where
you can run tests on your cabling, gather station statistics and check the health of your
network.
M.A.Ch.10/100 Main Screen
The M.A.Ch.10/100 toolboxes include convenient features such as a built-in
Subnet
Calculator,
handy for planning subnet addressing schemes to facilitate configuration of
routers and other devices in the field. You can easily resolve an IP address from a host
name and vice versa using the
DNS/WINS lookup
to identify devices on an extended
network.
Duplicate IP address detection
quickly identifies workstations that have been
assigned the same IP address, solving log in and routing problems.
Ping
can be used in a
variety of troubleshooting scenarios to identify workstation or port accessibility and
location. Additionally, Ping provides round trip delay information on extended networks.
Another IP Ping feature is
Multi-Ping
.
Multi-Ping
allows you to configure a Site
Specific, or Global Host list of IP Hosts. Once these lists have been configured, you can
have the M.A.Ch.10/100 run the
Multi-Ping
list and verify that all required devices are
on-line and accessible for the network segment you are plugged into.
Trace Route
helps discover the location of a communications failure by showing the path
an IP packet takes to reach its destination.
