Binding
The act of linking a remote wireless unit (i.e.
thermostat or time controller) to the RZ1
receiver channel
Channel
The output of the RZ1 unit. RZ1 has one channel.
Each of these channels can be used to control a
device that requires switching on.
Include/Exclude
Initiator Button
On every Z-Wave product there will be a button
or process to tell the device to send out a request
to join or leave an existing or new network.
LED
Light Emitting Diode. The RZ1 has tri-colour
LEDs to indicate the different states the control
can be in.
Programme State
The RZ1 is ready to include or exclude other
Z-Wave compatible devices from the network.
Ready State
When the RZ1 is in ready state the GREEN
PROG LED is lit and the device is waiting for
instructions to switch on or off its output(s).
Reset State
In the Reset State the RZ1 is reset back to factory
defaults and is ready to either be added into
an existing network as a secondary controller
or to be used to create a network as a primary
controller.
Z-Wave
A wireless communication protocol designed
for low-power and low-bandwidth appliances,
such as home automation and sensor networks
SUC
(Static Update
Controller
A secondary controller that acts as a back up
store of the network routings. The SUC can be
used to create a new primary network controller
if commanded to, should the primary controller
malfunction. Only the primary controller can
include new devices with a SUC in the network
SIS
(SUC ID Server)
A SUC controller which has been promoted
by the network to become the ID server. Any
device in the network can include new nodes to
the network, not just the primary device.
