Kompakt H 28/35/42

13.0  Circulation pump

13.1  Alternative Circulation pump Grundfos Magna 25-100

The Kompakt H substations come standard with Wilo circulation pumps.

Alternatively Grundfos pumps may be used. The Wilo Wilo installation

and operating instructions will in such cases be replaced by Grundfos

installation and operating instructions.

Substation start-up / pump

Do not start up the pump until the system has been filled with the

flow media and vented.

On traditional heating systems the selector switch (the red button)

must be turned left for selection of constant pump operating mode.

It is recommended to set the pump at highest speed of rotation be-

fore start-up. Then set the pump at lowest possible speed of rotation,

in due consideration of the electricity consumption and the heating

comfort. (The factory setting of the selector switch, “the red button”

does not comply with the flow rate required for the system)

Floor heating

Select variable pump control mode for floor heating. Turn the red but-

ton to the right.

Set the pump at lowest possible speed of rotation, in due consideration

of the electricity consumption and the heating comfort.

Summer operation

The circulation pump for heating is automatically switched off in pe-

riods without heat demand. To prevent the pump from blocking in

periods without heat demand, the controller automatically switches

on  the  pump  for  some  minutes  every  third  day.  In  this  period  the

circulation  pump  should  be  set  at  the  highest  speed  of  rotation.

The shut-off valve/summer valve S in top of the station can be closed

during this period. It is recommendable to vent the system after the

summer period.
If the heating requirement increases the pump setting can be changed
by means of the selector switch

For more information about venting of pump etc. please refer to en-

closed installation and operating instructions:

Wilo Stratos PARA

Installation and operation instructions

S

For systems with Grundfos circulation pumps please follow the en-

closed Grundfoss Installation and Operating Instructions for setting

of pump.

In general, Grundfos recommends:

• AUTOADAPT (factory setting)

(This control mode is suitable for most installation. During operation, the pump auto-

matically reduces the factory-set setpoint and adjusts it to the actual system characte-
   ristic).

• Proportional-pressure control

(systems with relatively large pressure losses).

• Constant-pressure control

(systems with relatively small pressure losses).

• Automatic night-time duty

Please note that the system can not be vented through the pump.

Please see enclosed instructions,
