Caution:
Only one person may operate the WheelChair
Mover at any one time. Operate the WheelChair
Mover from a standing position with the
handlebars and throttle directly in front of you.
Operate the WheelChair Mover with one hand on
each of the handlebars.
2)
Using the “O/I” switch, turn on the machine. The controller status light should be on
and steady. Lights should appear on the battery level meter. These lights indicate
the level of battery charge
– with full charge indicated to the extreme right and low
charge indicated to the extreme left.
3) To move forward, push the right side of the throttle control lever toward the
handlebar. For smooth operation the acceleration is controlled and therefore a slight
delay will occur between the time you push the throttle and the time it moves. To
move the machine slowly, push the throttle just slightly. To move faster push the
throttle in more. By releasing the control lever, you will come to a stop approximately
one second after release. To operate in reverse, push the left side of the hand
control lever toward the handlebar or pull the right side control lever toward you.
4) The operating characteristics for the WheelChair Mover are set at the factory
including maximum forward speed, maximum reverse speed, acceleration rate and
deceleration rate.
5) The Back-Away button causes the Wheelchair Mover to move away from the
operator and can be used any time the machine is turned on.
6) The rabbit/turtle switch allows two different maximum speeds for the machine. Use
the turtle switch position during training and when maneuvering in tight spaces.
7)
To turn the power off, press the switch to “O”.
Note:
Do not leave the machine on when unattended
with the power on or hooked to a wheelchair with a
patient.
8) When the WheelChair Mover is stopped, the parking brake automatically engages.
This prevents the WheelChair Mover from rolling on slopes or being pushed
manually.
If the WheelChair Mover remains stopped for greater than 5 minutes, the controller
goes to sleep, preventing the WheelChair Mover from being operated. To return to
normal operation, using the “O/I” switch, turn the machine Off then On again.
9) The electromagnetic brake will stop your WheelChair Mover approximately one
second after releasing the hand control lever.
Faster stopping with your WheelChair Mover can be accomplished by turning the
WheelChair Mover off or by reversing the handle control in order to reverse the
direction the WheelChair Mover is traveling.
