Scale Analog output
This function defines the scaling of the analogue video signal (4CIF PAL/NTSC):
•
On (checkbox activated)
◦ if Encoder 1 resolution = 4CIF, SXGA−:
aspect ratio 4:3
◦ if Encoder 1 resolution = 720p:
aspect ratio 16:9 Letterbox
(black bars at the top and bottom of the screen)
◦ if Encoder 1 resolution = 720p, SXGA−:
image is scaled to display the entire scene
image is not cropped
◦ if Encoder 1 resolution = 4CIF:
image is not scaled
image is not cropped
•
Off (checkbox deactivated)
◦ aspect ratio always 4:3, for all resolutions
◦ if Encoder 1 resolution = 720p, SXGA−:
only partial from centre sensor area is output
smaller image detail causes reduction of angle of view
smaller image detail leads to the impression of a focal length increase
(object seems closer and larger)
image (scene) is cropped
◦ if Encoder 1 resolution = 4CIF:
image detail is not resized
image is not cropped
Note:
In order to achieve ideal image quality when recording the analogue video signal,
the resolutions SXGA− or 4CIF are recommended for Encoder 1.
The resolution 720p for Encoder 1 is not recommended when recording the analogue
video signal.
