You should expect the sound quality from your new subwoofer to gradually improve during the
initial period of use. Nothing particular has to be done in order to run in the speakers – but
expect up to 100 hours of playback (depending on playback level) before full performance level is
reached. use normal music for running-in the speakers.
7 . 0 O V E R L O A D I N G O F T H E S U B W O O F E R
If DALI MOtIF SuB 2 is overloaded, the built-in safety circuit will power down the subwoofer. If
this occurs, let it cool down before turning it back on. the built-in safety circuit is not a guarantee
against damage as a result of overloading.

the surfaces of the speakers may fade over time when exposed to direct sunlight. therefore avoid
positioning the speakers in direct sunlight.
9.0 ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION AND DISPOSAL
DALI products are designed to meet the international directives concerning Restriction of
Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
the waste symbol indicates that the speakers meet the directives, see Figure 2. the speakers must
be processed or recycled appropriately. Please consult your local waste authority for guidance.

cleaning the speaker surfaces can be done with ordinary household cleaning agents and using a
micro fibre cloth. Avoid using products that are abrasive or that contain acid, alkali or anti-bacterial
agents. Avoid using aerosols. Avoid using cleaning agents directly on the drive units and clean
these with extreme care.

A)
ON/StANDBY LED, indicator is green when POWER is set to ON and when an input signal on
the LINE INPut(S) is detected. the LED is red, if the subwoofer is powered down on standby.
B)
MODE selector: when the MODE selector is set to NORMAL, the built-in crossover will be
active and you can adjust the crossover frequency on the cROSSOVER button given that
the input signal is connected to the LINE INPut L (or both L and R/LFE). When the MODE
selector is set to LFE, the LFE input signal should be connected to the LINE INPut R/LFE. In
this case, the built-in crossover will be bypassed and the cROSSOVER button is not active;
the subwoofer sound must be adjusted from the stereo or surround sound (pre-)amplifier.

VOLuME adjustment: turn the button towards “+” to increase the sound level. to reduce the
sound level, turn the button towards “-”.

cROSSOVER: Adjustment of the crossover frequency from 60 Hz to 140 Hz. to be able to
adjust the crossover frequency, the MODE selector must be set to NORMAL (see B).
E)
MutE: push the MutE button to mute the subwoofer. PuSH the mute button again to
unmute the subwoofer.
F)
PHASE: push the PHASE button to toggle the phase of the subwoofer to either 0 degrees or
180 degrees phase angle.
G)
LINE input: (MODE selector set to NORMAL): connect the “L” input connector (white) to
the LEFt RcA line output connector of your stereo/surround sound (pre-)amplifier. connect
the “R/LFE” input connector (red) to the RIGHt RcA line output connector of your stereo/
surround sound (pre-)amplifier.

LFE input: (MODE selector set to LFE): connect the “R/LFE” input connector (red) to the LFE
RcA line output of your surround sound amplifier.

POWER switch: set the switch to ON to power up the subwoofer. Set the switch to OFF to
power off the subwoofer.
I)
VOLtAGE selector: Set the VOLtAGE selector to match the voltage of your mains supply.
cAutION: If the voltage selector is not set correctly there is a risk that the electronics of the
subwoofer will become defective when the subwoofer is connected to the mains.
J)
FuSE compartment: if the subwoofer fails to power up when the connected to the mains and
the POWER switch is set to ON, the fuse may have blown or be faulty. Replace the fuse with
the same type as originally supplied – see fuse type on the amplifier back plate. If the fuse
blows repeatedly, have the subwoofer checked at an authorised service centre – contact
your authorised dealer. check if the correct voltage has been selected.

MAINS connector: connect the supplied power cord to the MAINS connector and your mains
outlet. WARNING: MAKE SuRE tHAt tHE VOLtAGE SELEctOR IS SEt tO tHE cORREct
VOLtAGE BEFORE cONNEctION.

Remove the plastic strip to activate the battery in the remote control.

Power on/standby button: toggle between power on and standby mode (the POWER switch
must be set to ON and the subwoofer must be connected to the mains supply).

MutE: push the MutE button to mute the subwoofer. Push the MutE button again to unmute
the subwoofer.
4)
VOLuME adjustment: push the “+” button to increase the volume level. Push the “–” button
to reduce the volume level.
5)
the PHASE can be set to either 0 degrees (push the 0˚/nO button (nO = normal)) or 180
degrees phase angle (push the 180˚/rE button (rE = reverse)).
6)
Battery compartment. to change the battery: Insert the battery as indicated on the drawing.
If the remote control does not respond, replace the battery with a new cR2025, 3V)

On the front of the subwoofer you will find a translucent logo badge/display. the settings of the
subwoofer can be seen on the display when the subwoofer is operated by the remote or the
buttons on the amplifier. When the subwoofer is not operated, the display will be dimmed.
