Two-Wire Current-Loop Detectors
Use a dual-conductor flex cable with a cross-sectional area of between 0.75 and 1.5 mm
2
to
connect the D•420 electrochemical detector (e.g., CO and NO
2
. See the diagram below).
The cables that connect the detectors and the U•V6 unit should not be more than 300 m
long.
In the event that the U•V6 unit is installed in an environment that contains sources of
strong electromagnetic interference (transmitters, welding stations, switching relays, HF
transmitters, cable runs or computer networks, etc.), it is preferable to use shielded cables
to connect the detectors.
Never use two or more wires to increase the cross-sectional area of the wire. The cable
must be one length of cable (without connections) and properly connected to the
appropriate terminals. Use a maximum torque of 0.60 Nm.
Never place a detector cable next to a coaxial cable or a power cable and definitely never
in the same bundle or cable run.
