Flow Switch
A water flow switch must be mounted in either the entering or leaving water line to insure an adequate water flow
through the evaporator before starting the unit. This will safeguard against slugging the compressors on start-up. It
serves to shut down the unit in the event that water flow is interrupted to protect against evaporator freeze-up.
Whenever the unit is equipped with the heat recovery condensers a water flow switch must be mounted in either
the entering or leaving water line to insure an adequate water flow before switching the unit in “Heat recovery
mode”. It prevents against the unit shut-down for high condensing pressure.
A flow switch is available from DAIKIN and it is a "paddle" type switch and adaptable to any pipe size from 5"
(127mm) to 8" (203mm) nominal.
Certain minimum flow rates are required to close the switch and are listed in Table 1.

(1)
Max ambient temperature are referred to units working at full load. With higher temperatures the chillers will

(2)
When air temperature is lower than +10°C you need t he fan speed control device (OPFS/OPLA). It allows the unit
working with air temperature down to -10°C/-18°C.
