DELAY

Control the output condition of the audio out.

In Dolby Digital or Dolby Pro Logic mode it is assumed that the time it takes the
sound from each speaker to reach the listener, is the same. But if the time interval
from the center or rear left and right speakers to the listener is closer than the time
interval from the listener to the front left and right speaker, the sound of center or rear
left and right speaker will reach the listener first; instead of the sound of the front
speakers. (It is desirable that the sound from the front speakers reach the listener
first.)
Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic modes provide adjustment functions of delay time
for center and rear speakers.
You can manually set delay time of the center or rear left and right speakers so that
the sound from all speakers will arrive simultaneously to the listener.

Turn on the TEST TONE for the speakerís relative volume balance from the
listening position to each speaker. To exit TEST TONE, press the

button.

Dynamic Range Control. (Valid for Dolby Digital DVD disc)

When programs with wide dynamic range, such as movie soundtracks, are played at
low volume or from smaller speakers, the system can apply appropriate compression
to preserve low-level content and prevent dramatic passages from getting too loud.
The degree of compression can be made to vary according to need.
If your want to hear the original dynamic range recorded on disc, set the DYNAMIC
to OFF. Otherwise If you set the DYNAMIC to FULL, then the dynamic range is
reduced by bringing down the level of the loud sounds and bringing up the level of
the quiet sounds.

If you set the DYNAMIC to activation, the “DRC” indicator lights up in the display.

This function is to disable the playing of specified DVD that are unsuitable for
children. As each disc has slightly different codes, please refer to the disc instruction.
There are 8 levels. If the level is 8, the contents of the disc are suitable for adult.
If the level is 1, the contents of the disc are suitable for child. If you didn't set a new
password and level, there is no restriction playing discs.

When you turn on this unit for the first time, setting the new password is
recommended

Set/Change the password for the parental lock.
If it is the first time changing password, input "0000" on old PASSWORD.
