RDS OPERATION
1. AF mode off button (5)
While the "AF" indicator is shown(AF mode on), once tuned to an
RDS network station, as long as you drive within the area or nation
served by the network, the unit will automatically retune to the
strongest transmitter serving the network, using the PI and AF
codes, when the tuned station gets weaker.
To cancel the mode, press this button.
To make the mode on, press it again to retune to other frequency.
1) Select the desired band and tune to
the station which has to be memo-
rized.
2) Press the desired preset button for
1.5 seconds or more. To preset ad-
ditional stations, repeat the same
procedure.

4. Stereo/mono button (5)
If FM stereo broadcasting is too noisy, press this button 1.5
seconds or more to get the indicator "MO".
To return to stereo mode, press it again 1.5 seconds or more.
The indicator "MO" will disappear. If FM stereo broadcast is
received, the indicator " " will appear on the display.
5. Preset buttons (17)
6 stations can be preset on each band.(FM1, FM2, MW, LW)
If the tuned RDS station doesn't have AF(List of Alternative
Frequencies) data or the unit cannot receive the AF data for
some reason, the network following will not work when the
tuned RDS station's signal falls below a certain level.
NOTE
2. TP mode on/off button (11)
Press this button to receive only stations with traffic information
service(TP stations) or EON linked stations with TP stations. The
"TP" indicator appears in the display.
When a TP station is tuned in, the indicator " TP " appears.

You may listen to the traffic information in any condition as
follows; you are just playing a cassette or the volume level is
quite low.
ï
When receiving the information directly from the station, if the
presently heard traffic information becomes weak, the unit
seeks another TP stations in the network automatically. If it
happens when receiving it through the EON linked station, the
unit returns to the own program of EON linked station auto-
matically.
