Step 20 — Roof Assemblies to Posts:

note:  The  hardware  to  attach  the  Roof Assembly  can  be 

found in the Roof Assembly Box. The Roof Assemblies (v) 

are heavy; be sure to have adequate assistance to position 

and fasten each side.
Position the Roof Assemblies on the Corner Posts with the 

holes at the top of the Corner Posts aligned with the holes in 

the Roof Rafters. The angled end of the Roof Rafter should 

be on the inside of the play set. fasten each Roof Assembly 

to the Corner Posts using two 5/16 x 4-1/2" Hex Bolt Assem-

blies. do not tighten the fasteners completely until after the 

next step.

drill 3/8" dia.

back Side Swing Mount:

for a 7 ft. Swing Beam, drill one 3/8" diameter hole posi-

tioned 3-1/2" left of the very center of the Side Wall Sup-

port  (P).  fasten  one  Swing  mount  (d)  to  the  Side  Wall 

Support  using  one  5/16  x  4"  Hex  Bolt Assembly.  Plumb 

the Swing mount. mark the position of the lower hole on 

the Platform Side. drill a 3/8" diameter hole through the 

Platform Side at the marks. fasten the Swing mount and 

a Swing Spacer to the Platform Support using one 5/16 x 

5-1/2" Hex Bolt Assembly.

Step 21 — Ceiling joists:

Swing  both  Roof Assemblies  until  the  ends  touch. Adjust 

the Roof Assemblies so the angled ends are even with each 

other. With the counter-bored holes facing out, fasten a Ceil-

ing Joist (u) to the outside of the Roof Rafters on each side. 

use one 5/16 x 2" Hex Bolt Assembly in each end of each 

Ceiling Joist.
fasten the remaining Ceiling Joist to the Roof Rafter in the 

center  of  the  Roof Assemblies.  use  a  5/16  x  2"  Hex  Bolt 

Assembly in each end of the Ceiling Joist. Tighten the Bolts 

holding the Roof Assemblies to the Corner Posts.
