ADDITIONAL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND TIPS

IMPORTANT:

Use only cold water when brewing coffee. The automatic brewing sys-

tem has been designed to work best with cold water.
We recommend using coffee ground specifically for automatic drip coffee makers.

After using your drip coffee maker a few times you may adjust the amount to suit your

own taste.
Once the brewing cycle has completed, the automatic nonstick warming plate will

keep the coffee at serving temperature until you switch the coffee maker off.

WARNING:

When finished using the coffee maker, please ensure you manually turn the

coffee maker to the

OFF

position. This unit is not equipped with an automatic shut-off

feature, so you will need to manually turn the unit

OFF

.

CAUTION:

Never leave an empty carafe on a hot warming plate.

CARAFE CARE

NOTE: A damaged carafe may result in possible burns from hot liquid.
To avoid breakage:

•  Do not allow liquid to evaporate from the carafe while on the nonstick warming

plate or heat the carafe when empty.

•  Discard the carafe if chipped, cracked or damaged in any manner.

•  Never use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners; they will scratch and weaken the

glass.

•  Do not place the carafe on or near a gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, or in a

microwave oven.

•  Avoid rough handling and sharp blows.

•  Avoid drastic temperature changes. Never place a hot carafe on a cold surface.

CLEANING MINERAL DEPOSITS

Mineral deposits left by hard water can clog your coffee maker. To keep your coffee

maker operating efficiently, you should decalcify the mineral deposits left by the water

every three months.

1.  Fill the carafe with one part white vinegar and three parts warm water.

2.  Pour the mixture into the water reservoir tank. Do not place coffee grounds in the

filter

3.  Switch the coffee maker

ON

.

4.  When the vinegar solution has finished brewing, empty the carafe and rinse it out

with clean water.

5.  Allow the coffee maker to cool down for approximately 15 minutes before adding

more water.

6.  Refill the water reservoir tank with a carafe of cold water only, and run another

“brew” cycle.
