BATTERIES
SECTION 10
The Solo XT550 is powered by two 12 volt “Deep Cycle” batteries (group 27 U-1 Gel).
ConvaQuip Ind., Inc. strongly recommends the use of gel cell batteries. Gel batteries
are sealed and do not require any water to be added. They are also safer and more
convenient to handle since they are sealed and not subject to spilling.
WARNING
IF YOU DECIDE TO USE UNSEALED LEAD-ACID TYPE BATTERIES, EXTREME CARE
MUST BE EXERCISED TO ENSURE THAT THEY DO NOT LEAK OR SPILL. BATTERY
ACID CAN CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO YOUR SOLO XT550 AND TO SURFACES
IN YOUR HOME OR CAR THAT COMES IN CONTACT WITH ACID. ALWAYS WEAR
PROPER PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN HANDLING UNSEALED LEAD ACID
BATTERIES. REFER TO INSTRUCTION ON THE BATTERIES FOR FURTHER
INFORMATION.
Use care when connecting or disconnecting wires from the battery terminals. Be
sure that the tools you are using do not accidentally drop, or other wise touch both
terminals together.
Severe electric shock, fire, or explosion can result from tools shorting across the
terminals.
Never wear rings, watches or other jewelry while working on or around batteries as
serious injury can occur if an object shorts across the battery terminals.
