D: Safety
I.
Do not attempt to service the scanner yourself. Opening or removing
those covers requiring tools may expose you to dangerous voltage
points or other risks. Refer all servicing in those compartments to
authorized service personnel.

Unplug the scanner from the wall outlet and refer servicing to
authorized service personnel under the following conditions:
•
When the power cord or plug is damaged or frayed.
•
If liquid has been spilled into the scanner.
•
If the scanner has been exposed to rain or water.
•
If the scanner does not operate normally when operating
instructions are followed then adjust only those controls that are
covered by the operating instructions in this manual. Improper
adjustment of controls other than those mentioned in this manual
may result in permanent damage and will at best require extensive
work by a qualified technician to restore this product to its normal
operation.
•
If the scanner has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
•
If the scanner exhibits a distinct change in performance, indicating
a need for service.
