Getting Started

• If you are using a headset, connect it to the round socket “PHONE” (F) on the control unit. This switches off

the loudspeaker in the metal detector.

• Switch on the metal detector, turn the “VOL” (E) control carefully a little clockwise until you hear an audible

click.
Select the desired search function using the “MODE” button (see chapter “Selecting the operating mode”),

and check the function e.g. by placing a metal coin on the ground and searching for it.
Carefully turn the volume up, until you hear the  metal detector’s search tone.

When using headphones, make sure the volume is not turned up too high; this could cause
hearing damage.

Adjusting the connection pole/detection coil; Searching

The extension pipe should be adjusted, so you can hold the metal detector comfortably and effortlessly. The

length is adjusted correctly, when you can swing the detection coil back and forth over the ground with your

arm outstretched.
Adjust the angle of the detection coil to the length, so the detection coil is horizontal with the surface.
The detection coil must be held horizontally to the surface, distance approx. 1-2cm.

When the detection coil is held obliquely, the search point is not directly below the coil, but

outside, which can lead to unsuccessful excavations.

Always swing the detection coil at the same height, about 1-2cm above the ground, from the left to the right

and back again, so  the detection coil overlaps the surface it covers.
Make sure the detection coil is always horizontal. When the detection coil is held obliquely, the search point

is not directly below the coil, but outside, which can lead to unsuccessful excavations.

Keep a distance from metal parts that can cause interference e.g. cars, cables, fences as they could negatively

influence the detection.
Move the detection coil slowly and evenly.
When a metal object is detected, an audible signal is emitted.
Mark the position and check the site by repeated swings of the detection coil.
If required, use different operating modes while searching for metal objects (see chapter “Selecting the

operating mode”).
When the search process is ended, switch off the metal detector (turn the “VOL” knob anti-clockwise until you

hear a click).

Selecting the operating mode

Select the desired operating mode using the “MODE” button:

• “ALL METAL”

Using the tone volume, the metal detector signals the object’s size or depth in the ground.
Using the rotary knob “GND BAL” (G), you can adjust a certain offset for the ore content/mineralisation of

the substratum (higher ore content/mineralisation -> turn further to the right). We recommend you start with

the setting “P” at the beginning; turn the knob to the right to the corresponding position.
Now perform a calibration with the “GND TRAC” button.   When the “GND TRAC” button is pressed, the

current measured value is used as a reference; this value is taken as the zero position, where you do not

hear a signal tone.  In this way, for example, smaller metal objects can be ignored or bigger objects localised

exactly.
To reset the calibration, hold the detection coil in the air (distance to the ground at least 1 m) and press the

“GND TRAC” button again.
In addition, after turning the rotary knob “GND BAL” (G) you should perform a new calibration.

• “SENS DISC”

Here, certain metals can be excluded from the search.
If you press the “SET” button, “DISC/NOTCH” appears in the display on the top left. With the “-” and “+”

buttons you can limit the detection of objects (e.g. only detect “d...e...f”).
Press the “SET” button again, to save the setting; “SENS DISC” appears in the display again.

Description of Symbols

a Iron, foil, screws
b Nickel (e.g. US 5-cent coin)
c Drinks Can/Opening Tab
d Metal lid, bottle lid or similar
e Zinc (e.g. US 1-cent coin)
f Silver/aluminium (e.g. US 25-cent coin)

L Low tone
M Medium tone
H High tone

H

Objects containing gold are displayed in the left section (“GOLD RANGE”, “a, b, c, d, e”), and silver (“SILVER”,

“e, f”) in the right section.
If the metal detector detects a corresponding object, a tone is emitted accordingly (tone pitch low “L”, medium

“M” or high “H”) and an arrow is shown by the appropriate symbol (“a” to “f”, see illustration above).

Furthermore, the depth at which the object has been detected is displayed: “DEPTH”.
Please note that because of the cutting method, for example, a small object at a shallow depth will be shown

in the same way as a larger object at a greater depth.

The sensitivity (and therefore, the detection depth) can be also be adjusted. For this purpose,

press the “-” or “+” button; the sensitivity is indicated by circles in the middle of the display.
When performing the adjustment, the metal detector must not be in the mode “DISC/NOTCH”,

but instead in the normal operating mode “SENS DISC” (check the display!).  Press the “SET”

button, if applicable, to exit the setting mode “DISC/NOTCH”.

• “SENS NOTCH”

The function is the same as in the operating mode “SENS DISC”, with the single difference that you can

individually switch on or off the metal types visible in the display (see illustration above “a” to “f”).
If you press the “SET” button, “DISC/NOTCH” appears in the display on the top left.
With the “-” and “+” buttons, you can select the desired metal type (an arrow symbol appears below). The actual

metal type can be switched on or off using the “ACC/REJ” button. The corresponding symbol (“a”..... “f”, see

illustration under operating mode “SENS DISC”) is deactivated or appears in the display again.
Wait until the flashing arrow symbol disappears; the setting is saved.
Press the “SET” button, to quit setting mode.

The sensitivity (and therefore, the detection depth) can also be adjusted. For this purpose, press
the “-” or “+” button; the sensitivity is indicated by circles in the middle of the display.
When performing the adjustment, the metal detector must not be in the mode “DISC/NOTCH”,

but instead in the normal operating mode “SENS NOTCH” (check the display!).  Press the “SET”

button, if applicable, to exit the setting mode “DISC/NOTCH”.

Maintenance and Cleaning

The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any reason.
Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning. To clean the dirty detection coil, the cloth may be moistened

with lukewarm water.
Do not use aggressive detergents as these can cause discoloration.

Disposal

a) Product

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste!
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory

requirements.

b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries

As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable

batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!

Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that

disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the relevant heavy metals are:

Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (the marking can be seen on the battery/rechargeable

battery e.g. below the refuse bin symbol shown on the left).
You can return used (rechargeable) batteries free of charge at the official collection points in your

municipality, our stores, or where ever (rechargeable) batteries are sold!
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
