GENERAL
3.1
APPLICATION
The water leak protection system is used in drinking water systems to monitor the water consumption and
shut-off the drinking water pipe if set limits are exceeded. It was developed for use in single family dwell-
ings, to protect against the effects of water pipe breakages, leaks and defects in the domestic water instal-
lation in addition to preventing exceptional water consumption. Moreover monitoring for leaks in com-
mercial and public buildings can be performed when there is nobody there. The leak protection system
detects running taps and valves. Information about usage limitations is contained in chapter 4.1 “INTEND-
ED USE”.
3.2
SCOPE OF SUPPLY

not be possible to acknowledge subsequent claims.
3.3
APPROVAL MARKS
The water leak protection system complies with the technical regulations for drinking water installation
according to DIN EN 806 ff. and the national supplement DIN 1988 ff. as well as DIN EN 1717. It is de-
signed according to the DVGW (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water) test reg-
ulations VP 638 (“Leakage detectors for installation in drinking water systems”). DVGW certification has
been applied for.
This leak protection system has been developed for use in cold mains drinking wa-
ter (up to 30 °C). Prior to installation in media other than water or in water con-
taining additives, the manufacturer must be consulted.
