Server Configuration and Utilities

This chapter describes the software tools that Compaq provides on your
SmartStart and Support Software CD (SmartStart CD) to assist you in
configuring and managing your Compaq ProLiant DL580 server.

SmartStart Features

Compaq SmartStart provides intelligent tools for configuring your server and
loading system software to achieve a well-integrated server with optimal
dependability and supportability. The SmartStart CD includes

Compaq System Configuration Utility, including baseline files for the
Compaq Integrated Management Log (IML)

System ROMPaq Utility

The System ROMPaq utility allows you to re-establish the factory default
settings for the firmware that shipped with your server. You can download
new versions of system or storage ROMPaqs as they become available by
registering your server with Compaq. Updated ROMPaqs are available to
download from the Compaq website:
