6.8.1 Device Binding
This page provides device binding configurations. Device binding is a powerful way to monitor
devices and network security.

Description
Mode
Indicates the device binding operation for each port. Possible modes are:
---: disable
Scan: scans IP/MAC automatically, but no binding function
Binding: enables binding. Under this mode, any IP/MAC that does not match the
entry will not be allowed to access the network.
Shutdown: shuts down the port (No Link)
Alive Check Active
Check to enable alive check. When enabled, switch will ping the device
continually.
Alive Check Status
Indicates alive check status. Possible statuses are:
---: disable
Got Reply: receive ping reply from device, meaning the device is still alive
Lost Reply: not receiving ping reply from device, meaning the device might have
been dead.
Stream Check Active Check to enable stream check. When enabled, the switch will detect the stream
change (getting low) from the device.
Stream Check
Status
Indicates stream check status. Possible statuses are: ---: disable
Normal: the stream is normal.
Low: the stream is getting low.
DDoS Prevention
Acton
Check to enable DDOS prevention. When enabled, the switch will monitor the
device against DDOS attacks.

Status
Indicates DDOS prevention status. Possible statuses are:
---: disable
Analyzing: analyzes packet throughput for initialization
Running: analysis completes and ready for next move
Attacked: DDOS attacks occur
Device IP Address
Specifies IP address of the device
Device MAC Address Specifies MAC address of the device
