6.6.2 Port Classification
QoS is an acronym for Quality of Service. It is a method to achieve efficient bandwidth utilization
between individual applications or protocols.

Description
Port
The port number for which the configuration below applies
QoS Class
Controls the default QoS class
All frames are classified to a QoS class. There is a one to one mapping between
QoS class, queue, and priority. A QoS class of 0 (zero) has the lowest priority.
If the port is VLAN aware and the frame is tagged, then the frame is classified to
a QoS class that is based on the PCP value in the tag as shown below. Otherwise
the frame is classified to the default QoS class.
PCP value: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
QoS class: 1 0 2 3 4 5 6 7
If the port is VLAN aware, the frame is tagged, and Tag Class is enabled, then the
frame is classified to a QoS class that is mapped from the PCP and DEI value in
the tag. Otherwise the frame is classified to the default QoS class.
The classified QoS class can be overruled by a QCL entry. Note: if the default
QoS class has been dynamically changed, then the actual default QoS class is
shown in parentheses after the configured default QoS class.
DP level
Controls the default Drop Precedence Level All frames are classified to a DP level.
If the port is VLAN aware and the frame is tagged, then the frame is classified to a
DP level that is equal to the DEI value in the tag. Otherwise the frame is classified
to the default DP level. If the port is VLAN aware, the frame is tagged, and Tag
Class is enabled, then the frame is classified to a DP level that is mapped from the
PCP and DEI value in the tag. Otherwise the frame is classified to the default DP
level.
The classified DP level can be overruled by a QCL entry.
PCP
Controls the default PCP value
All frames are classified to a PCP value.
If the port is VLAN aware and the frame is tagged, then the frame is classified
to the PCP value in the tag. Otherwise the frame is classified to the default PCP
value.
