MU Li-ion Battery Connection
The Li-ion battery is located within the PSU SIU and is disconnected prior to shipment. Before
equipment power up, user needs to withdraw the PSU SIU from the MU shelf, locate and connect the
in-line connector of the battery pack and then reinsert the PSU SIU.
RU Li-ion Battery Connection
With the equipment lying flat, remove the bolts with an Allen Key, unlock and open the enclosure door.
Locate the battery pack, the in-line connector of the battery pack is “disconnected” from the PSU
during shipment. Connect the in-line connector, turn on the battery switch located on the PSU, close
the enclosure door, insert and tighten bolts to complete this procedure.
3.5.4 RF
CONNECTION
Connect MU to POI System or BTSs
For BTS signal connection from a POI system, via co-axial cable, connect the uplink input port
labelled “Uplink” on the “RFU” unit to the uplink output port on a POI system, and the downlink output
port labelled “Downlink” on the “RFU” unit to the downlink input port on a POI system.
Connect RU with Antenna
Connect the DCS/ WCDMA ports of RU with TX/RX antenna via coaxial cable.
3.5.5 OPTICAL CONNECTION BETWEEN MU AND RU
The MU is connected to RU via optical fiber (length < 20km).
For dual fiber working - connect the “OP/Uplink” and “OP/Downlink” ports of FOU to the “OP/Downlink
OP/Uplink” ports of RU using separated optical fibers.
For single fiber working, connection is via the WDM unit; connect the “OP/DL/UL” port of FOU to “OP/
UL_DL” port of RU using a single optical fiber.
On the RU, the fiber entry is protected by a shroud; ensure this is attached after fibers are secured.
3.5.6 BTS ALARM CONNECTION
The equipment alarms can be signaled to the BTS via voltage-free relay contacts. The voltage-free
relay connections are connected to the DB-9 port “BTS_ALAM” located on the MCU of MU. The
