The RF signals from the customer phones are received by the RU and converted to the optical
signals after amplification in the RU. And then via UL optical fiber, the signals are transmitted to the
MU, which then converts the optical signals into RF signals. After amplification, the signals are
transmitted back to the BTS.
2.2 TYPICAL
APPLICATION
2.2.1 DUAL FIBER CONFIGURATION
For equipments without configuring WDM Unit, the dual fiber configuration is applicable. Refer to the
following two applications:

Typically one MU can be connected with one or two RU (s) through using the Single Channel FOU or
Double Channel FOU. Refer to the two figures below:
