6.1.2 To remove dirt and contamination from the contra angle, wipe with a soft
cloth saturated with rubbing alcohol.
6.1.3 When the contra angle is detached to perform lubrication or sterilization
and charge the handpiece place the cap on the handpiece to prevent it from
becoming contaminated. Use a standard motor handpiece lubricant.
CAUTION!
•
Never lubricate the handpiece. Failure to comply may result in
equipment damage.
•
Completely wipe off oil from the contra angle before connecting
it to the handpiece. Also do not attach the contra angle to the
handpiece until the oil has dried. Failure to comply may result in
equipment damage.
•
It is recommended to hold the spray can vertically.
•
Do not use soluble liquids such as benzene or thinner when
cleaning the handpiece. Failure to comply may result in equipment
damage.
•
Never autoclave the handpiece. Failure to comply may result in
equipment damage.
6.2
Cleaning Procedure
6.2.1 Clean the contra angle using a soft brush and then wipe out the dirt on its
surface with a soft cloth (do not use a wire brush).
6.2.2 Lubricate the contra angle as described in section 6.1.
6.2.3 Place the contra angle into the autoclave.
6.2.4 Set the autoclave temperature to approximately 121° C (250° F) for
approximately 20 minutes and then 132° C (270° F) for approximately 15
minutes.
6.2.5 When complete allow the contra angle to dry and keep it in a clean area.
