4.6 Using the Paper Weight Control
When scanning thick or heavier weight documents it may be necessary to alter the value set in the Paper Weight control to improve
the quality of straight horizontal lines in the scan. To change the setting follows the steps below-
1. Press MENU to enter the Scanner Options menu. PAPER WEIGHT is the first option
2. Press ENTER to enter the PAPER WEIGHT screen
3. To allow thicker media scanning click the NEXT button (5 steps between Normal (0.06mm thick) and Heavy (0.3mm thick)
4. Click ENTER to store the new paper weight setting
The scanner is now ready to scan with heavier media. NOTE: AUTO-STITCH changes to the correct setting automatically.
4.7 Controlling the Power Save Timer (Sleep Mode)
Ci is equipped with a Power Save Timer that puts the scanner into a „sleep mode‟ to reduce the energy consumption of the scanner
when it is not scanning. The sleep timer cannot be turned off.
To alter the Power Save Timer (the time before the scanner enters sleep
mode) cursor over the number field then retype a new time in minutes.
The number must be between 2 and 15. Click Apply.
NOTE: During Ethernet configuration of the scanner it is recommended not
to set the value of the Power Save Timer below 15 minutes (default).
To re-awaken the scanner press the red CANCEL button on the scanner
control panel. The scanner will be ready to use within 5 seconds.
Alternatively start a scanner Colortrac software application.
