(4) PISTON AND CONNECTING ROD
The piston is attached to the connecting rod by
the piston pin .
When assembling the piston and connecting
rod, make sure to align the mark on the piston
head with the ‘MAG’ mark on the connecting
rod .
NOTE 1: Before assembling the connecting rod,
apply oil to its small end .
NOTE 2: Be sure to insert the clips in the two
ends of the piston pin and check the clips for
any play .

(5) CONNECTING ROD
(a) Install the piston and connecting rod assembly
into the cylinder by holding the piston rings
with the ring guide, with the ‘MAG’ mark on
the connecting rod on the flywheel side. (If you
do not have a ring guide, hold the piston rings
with the fingers and tap the upper part of the
piston with a piece of wood.)
NOTE 1: Apply oil to the piston rings, the large
end of the connecting rod and cylinder
before installing the connecting rod into
the cylinder.
NOTE 2: The piston ring gaps should be
positioned around the piston at 90-degree
intervals.
