Chapter 3 Options for the Cisco TelePresence System 1000
Cisco TelePresence Presentation Codec
shows you the cabling diagram for a CTS 1000 with a presentation codec and an external
display. You use the display for shared presentations. Connect the presentation source to the codec using
the DVI-to-VGA cable; plug the DVI connection into the Auxiliary Video In connection.
Caution
To prevent the codec powering off after a meeting, do not plug the presentation codec power cord into
any of the Switched outlets in the auxiliary control unit. Plug the codec into either the PDU, an electrical
outlet, or the single outlet on the auxiliary control unit that is marked “UNSWITCHED”.
Note
If your CTS 1000 does not have an auxiliary control unit, route the Ethernet cables for the Primary Codec
signal directly between the codec and presentation codec, and omit the DVI-to-Serial connection
between the external presentation display and the auxiliary control unit.
