7. REFUSE DISPOSAL AND DEMOLITION
The instructions contained in this chapter are for
qualified personnel
.
Disposal must be carried out in accordance with the standards in force in the Country of use.
7.1 REFUSE STORAGE
As far as regards respect for the environment, there are different standards of reference in different countries. Provisional
storage of special refuse while awaiting disposal by definitive treatment and/or storage is permitted. Any type of HCFC
or HFC refrigerant MUST NOT be disposed of in the environment.
NO replacement of refrigerant with refrigerants other than those specified on the data plate is permitted without prior
authorisation from the manufacturer.
7.2 DEMOLITION PROCEDURES
For demolition procedures, the provisions set by the laws and relative bodies in the Country of use MUST BE RESPECTED.
In general, it is necessary to dispatch the equipment to qualified collection/demolition centres.
We suggest the following:
-Disconnect the equipment from the mains power and water supplies.
-Dismantle the equipment, grouping the components according to their chemical nature.
-We remind you that the refrigerating system contains lubricating oil and refrigerant that can be recovered and re-used.
-Proceed to demolition in full respect of the laws in force.
DEMOLITION OPERATIONS MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL.
