Comments:
Installed using the Bonfanti-crane.
The vessel and chamber is locked into place at the
bottom by 4 threaded rods M24 (+ nut).
From the installation document: ‘For the removal of
the assembly vacuum c big vessel a big
plastic film has to be positioned below the beam pit,
as steel spheres may stay in the pit on the flat
surfaces.’
Bag below pit in technical gallery
The vessel and vacuum chamber will have to be
hoisted out of the beam pit together. They can then
be placed on supporting rods so that the vacuum
chamber is hanging by its flange whilst the two parts
are separated.
JL suggests 2 aluminium bars bolted together.
Supports to be developed by EN-EA.
These parts may be slightly activated & contaminated.
To be stored in the ISR8 storage area.
A manual winch will be needed to recover persons in
the case of an emergency.
