3.12 Checking the correct installation and configuration

Switch on the
Metal Detector
Wait for the end of the startup until the main operative
screenshot is correctly shown

Instructions for use
Press the UP (STATUS) key and check that date and time are
correctly set, so as to guarantee the correct traceability of
recorded events

Check on display the absence of interferences due to a nearby
Metal Detector and eventually select a different transmission
channel

Starting the
transport
system
Start other devices in-line with the Metal Detector to simulate
the operative conditions and, if possible, check the absence of
electrical and/or mechanical noises that generates false alarms
to the Metal Detector.

If present, start the conveyor belt integrated with the Metal
Detector and check its correct working, alignment (with no
rubbing against the tunnel on Detection Probe), speed and the
eventual coordination with the in-line devices.
If present, check the correct working of all the emergency
buttons connected to the System.

Set the detection parameters based on the product to be
inspected

characteristics
Check that the non-contaminated product passes through the
Metal Detector without generating alarm, in accordance with
the operating conditions. In case of false alarms, check again
the absence of electrical and/or mechanical.
Check that the product, passed through with each of the test
samples available, is ejected correctly according to the
methods provided.

Checking the
self-diagnosis
system and the
connection in
the line
The Metal Detector is fitted with a preprogrammed
selfdiagnosis system in order to activate the ejection or to stop
the transport, in case of internal diagnostic status or of the
sensors connected to it. Check that the Metal Detector
guarantees also the proper actions on the other in-line devices

Definition of the
enabled users
Access to Programming phase as Administrator and define the
