4. If you enable WEP, specify whether you want your
Cayman 2E-W to ignore unencrypted packets.
If you want your Cayman 2E-W to accept encrypted but ignore
unencrypted packets, click the
Exclude unencrypted packets
On
radio button.
If you want your Cayman 2E-W to accept both encrypted and
unencrypted packets, click the
Exclude unencrypted packets
Off
radio button.
5. If you enable WEP, specify whether you want your
Cayman 2E-W to use open or shared-key authentication.
If you select
Open
authentication, any client can exchange
network traffic with your Cayman 2E-W. If you select
Shared-Key
authentication, a client must have the same
encryption keys as your Cayman 2E-W to pass authentication.
6. Click the
Save
button to store your modified
configuration in the Cayman 2E-W memory.
7. Click the
Restart Cayman-2E
button on the Cayman 2E-W
Home Page to restart your Cayman 2E-W with its new
configuration.
Configuring
SNMP Settings
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) lets a network
administrator monitor problems on a network by retrieving settings
on remote network devices. The network administrator typically
runs an SNMP management station program on a local host to obtain
information from an SNMP agent such as the Cayman 2E-W. The
SNMP Setup window lets you enter SNMP configuration information
for your Cayman 2E-W.
To display the SNMP Setup window (Figure 3-14), click the
SNMP
button on the Cayman 2E-W Home Page. You must be in Expert
Mode to open the SNMP Setup window.
