Setting up your bike
The seat/slider
position
The seat/slider position can also be adjusted
forwards or backwards. See what feels
comfortable when seated on the bike. If the
handlebars feel too close or too far away, then
adjust the seat position.
Turn the quick release lever located underneath
the bottom slider clockwise to release. Slide the
seat’s top slider forwards or backwards until
you reach the required position and then turn
the lever clockwise to tighten. Make sure it is
securely tightened and that there is no lateral
movement of the slider.
Pedals and toe straps
Your feet should be securely positioned on the
pedals during exercise. Put your foot as far
forward as you can into the toe cover and then
pull the strap tight. Check the toe straps for
wear periodically. Your bike came with brackets
to secure cleats of cycling shoes to the pedals.
There are cleat attachments that will fit on
the underside of your pedals. This Shimano
mountain bike SPD cleat SM-SH51 connection
system is very common. They are compatible
with cycling shoes from many manufacturers.
