1 Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a Caremaxx Lite
Pad.
This Lite Pad is a Caremaxx quality
product.
Some of us have problems during the
short days of fall and winter with their
lack of adequate day light. This may be
compensated with the Lite Pad.
Make sure to carefully read this user
manual before using the instrument. Keep
the user manual in a safe place in case you
wish to consult it later on.
2 Important
• Use the Lite Pad only according to the
instructions in the user manual.
• Inappropriate use will invalidate the
warranty.
• The Lite Pad is not meant for
commercial use.
• Before connecting the instrument,
make sure that the voltage mentioned
on the instrument corresponds to the
local mains voltage.
• Repair jobs may only be performed by
authorized service workshops.
• Keep this instrument away from water;
never use this instrument in humid
rooms.
• Never immerse the Lite Pad in water or
any other liquid – neither partially nor
completely.
• Keep the instrument out of reach of
children.
• This instrument ought to be used in
regular lighting conditions and not in
a completely dark room, due to the
difference in contrast.
• If you are suffering from depression or
symptoms of winter depression, please
consult your physician.
• The Lite Pad is not a medical device.
• The Lite Pad cannot be used as a
replacement for medical therapy.
3 Delivery and packaging
The packaging contains:
• 1 Lite Pad
• 1 Adapter
• 1 user manual
The packaging material may be either
reused or recycled. Make sure that the
used packaging material is sent to the
pertinent waste management facility in
charge. Any transport damages detected
while unpacking should be reported your
supplier immediately.
4 Winter depression
Winter depression (or seasonal affective
disorder) is sometimes also referred
to as winter blues. This disorder
occurs mostly in the wintertime.
Primary symptoms include:
Sleep disorders:
Extreme fatigue, sleep deprivation,
difficulties falling asleep at night and
phase misalignment of the sleep/wake
cycle.
Eating disorders:
In the wintertime, patients with winter
depression tend to eat extra-high
amounts of carbohydrates (such as
bread or pasta) as well as sugar (for
instance in the form of chocolate), which
may cause them to put on quite some
