SYSTEM INITIALIZATION

To initialize the system proceed as follows:

A.  

Move the 4 dip-switches (fig.2 page.7) to the “OFF” position 

B.  

Simultaneously press the MODE and MEMO keys

The following will occur:

 

B1. System clock reset

     

B2. BAUD RATE set to 1200 BAUD

 

B3. Generic password set to  “12345678”.

C.  

If all is well the display will indicate the message: 

 

“INIT MEMORY”;

D.  

Simultaneously press the SET and MEMO keys

     

 This will reset the former events buffer memory;

E.  

If all is well the display will indicate the message:  

 

“DELETING FORMER EVENTS”;

F.  

Move the 4 dip-switches to the “ON” position

G.  

Press the RESET button.

***** ACD-148 ***** 

In its normal operating mode the ACD-148 does not require enabling via the 

serial key; this key is only required when system management tasks are to be 

carried out (memorising new user codes, cancelling codes, setting the date and 

time etc.).

SETTING THE CLOCK

1. Simultaneously press the MODE and SET keys

2. The display will show the following :

 

 

 

YY  MM  DD  HH  MM

                                            0

3. Press the SET key several times scrolling the digits relative to the years (80,S-

90,s etc.).

4.  Once the desired number is reached (e.g. 9 ) press the MODE key; 

The cursor prompt will then move to the single year units and a starting “0” will 

be shown.

5. Press the SET key once again and repeat the instructions at point 3 until the 

year has been set.  

 

6. Press the MODE key  again and the cursor prompt will move to the letter indi-

cating the month

A4.  Modifying the password

To personalise the system password choose Nr. 4 from the System Menu.

The following message appears on the display:

 

 

!! CHANGE PASSWORD!! ARE YOU SURE? [Y/N] >>

If the answer Y is given the following message appears on the display:

 

 

 

ENTRY NEW PASSWORD[ 8 characters ] >> . . . . . . . 

ATTENTION: You must insert an eight digit password 

To avoid typing errors the password is asked for a second time and if the two 

passwords do not conform the following message appears on the display:

            

 

 

WRONG PROCEDURE!!   - PASSWORD UNCHANGED 

               

TYPE < ESC > to EXIT

B.   USER MANAGEMENT

Choose Nr. 2 from the main menu to enter the user management menu :

This menu features all the user management tools which can be operated from a 

remote station.

For each individual user the system is able to memorise the following data:

- an internal identification code number, the enabled status for each channel and each 

code, and  a 12 character string for generic data  ( the name of the user etc.).

The possibility to memorise a new user from a remote terminal is also possible if 

you possess the “ CARDIN ACD-248”. This device is a remote display which al-

lows you to  read the S48 transmitter code number, which can then be inserted 

into the terminal
