How to Perform a Rescue
Step 1: Assess the patient
The Powerheart AED G3 model is indicated for emergency treatment
of victims exhibiting symptoms of sudden cardiac arrest who are:
◆
unresponsive,
◆
not breathing normally, and
◆
without pulse.
When a patient is a child or infant up to 8 years of age,
or up to 55 lbs. (25kg), the device should be used with the
Intellisense™ Defibrillation Pad – Pediatric. The therapy should not
be delayed to determine the patient’s exact age or weight..
The Powerheart AED G3 model is intended to be used by personnel
who have been trained in its operation.
CALL EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES!
Note:
When the patient is a child under 8 years of age or weighs less
than 55 lbs (25kg), the AED should be used with the Model
9730 Pediatric Attenuated Defibrillation Pads. If you do not have
pediatric pads, use adult pads to apply therapy.
Contraindications
Cardiac Science AEDs should not be used on patients that are
responsive or breathing normally.
Step 2: Prepare the patient
1.
Place the AED next to the
patient so the lid is on top.
Note:
Lay the AED flat
(horizontal) as shown.
2.
Open the AED lid.
3.
Wait until the LEDs illuminate.
