Communication Environment Setup
This section describes two additional protocols supported
for this machine: HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) and
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol).
HTTP
HTTP helps communicate between your computer and the
machine via a web interface (e.g., Remote UI).
1.
Press [Additional Functions].
2.
Use [
] or [
] to select <SYSTEM
SETTINGS>, then press [OK].
3.
Use [
] or [
] to select <NETWORK
SETTINGS>, then press [OK].
4.
Confirm that <TCP/IP SETTINGS> is
displayed, then press [OK].
5.
Use [
] or [
] to select <USE HTTP>,
then press [OK].
6.
Use [
] or [
] to select <ON>, then press
[OK].
7.
Use the numeric keys to enter the HTTP port
number, then press [OK].
8.
Press [Stop] to return to standby mode.
9.
Restart the machine.
SNMP
SNMP helps monitor the state of the machine and collects
information on it. The following two items can be set:
<COMMUNITY NAME>:
Sets the SNMP community name. You can specify up to two
community names.
<SNMP WRITABLE>:
Enables the computers on the network to access the machine
and modify its settings if this item is activated. You can specify
this setting for each community separately.
