2.4.1.3 Electrostatic latent image formation block

This block consists of three steps and forms an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive drum.
When the last step in this block is completed, a negative electrical charge is remained in the unexposed drum surface area by the laser beam and is removed from
the exposed area.
The image with negative charge on the drum is called an "electrostatic latent image" as it is invisible to human eyes.
Step 1: Pre-exposure
Prior to the primary charging, the LED light of the pre-exposure LED is exposed on the photosensitive drum surface. This eliminates the residual charge on the
drum surface in order to avoid image density unevenness.
