Cleaning the Retard Roller
Use the following procedure to remove and reinstall the retard roller
during cleaning or replacement.
CAUTION
Do not use excessive force when removing or reinstalling the retard
roller. Doing so could damage the roller, resulting in feed errors.
Removing and Cleaning the Retard Roller

Carefully raise the upper unit until it stops.

Grasp the roller cover with your fingers, and pull it up to
remove it.

Push the roller lock lever up (
a
) and move it to the left
(
b
) to unlock the roller.

Remove the retard roller.
