INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
Verification of clamps
Verify that the mounting clamps received in the
installation kit have the right dimensions and fit
perfectly on the forks. See Figure 17.
Note:
• A clamp with a bore diameter too small will not
install on the fork.
• A clamp with the right bore diameter will fit
perfectly on the fork, without any play.
• A clamp with a bore diameter too large will
have a little play on the fork.
• Check if the clamps have the same bore
diameter
Figure 17
CAUTION: A clamp which has too much play will
not provide enough rigidity for the ski assembly
and may damage the fork.
SKI INSTALLATION
• Position the ski assembly at the front fork (
1
)
and align the T-Bushings with the fork’s axle
mounting points.
• Insert the front wheel axle (
2
) through axle
mounting points and T-Bushings to secure ski
assembly in place. Install axle nut on wheel
axle and hand tighten temporarily. Figure 18.
Figure 18
NOTE: Lubricate wheel axle before assembly.
NOTE: Do not tighten the assembly at this point.
• Position Interior Clamps (
A-4
) on the front fork.
The clearance bore must be positioned
upward. Figure 19.
CAUTION: Be careful with the direction of
installation of the clamps. A clamp installed in the
wrong direction may result in damage to the front
fork when the front suspension bottoms out.
Figure 19
• Position Exterior Clamps (
A-5
) on the fork. The
clearance bore must be positioned upward.
Insert the assembly bolts in the clamps. Do not
tighten assembly. Figure 20.
NOTE: Apply thread locker compound such as Blue
Loctite 242 to fork clamp assembly bolts.
Figure 20
NOTE: Clamp assemblies must be straight and
completely at the bottom of the fork before
tightening them.
