STEP 20
Install the 1000197 nylon shim (1) and the 2J-0140
cassette style main spindle seal (2) in the seal
shoulder.
Use the same tools and procedures as in Step 19 to
completely seat the seal (2) in the seal shoulder. The
seal (2) must be pressed flush (3) in the seal
shoulder.
STEP 21
Heat the bearing cone (1) in an oven to 300°F
(148°C) for 20 minutes. Carefully install the inner
bearing cone (1) on the spindle.
WARNING: Use protective gloves when handling the
bearing cone (1).
STEP 22
Use a bearing driver to install the outer bearing cup
(1) in the drive spindle housing.
NOTE: The bearing cup (1) can be cooled to 0°F
(-18°C).
NOTE: Be sure the bearing cup (1) is completely
seated in the spindle housing.
