Tension is correct when the chain perfectly fits the bar (2) lower part and can
still be easily further pulled along the bar (2) with two fingers.
To adjust the chain tension, perform the following steps in sequence:
•
Switch off the tool by means of the ON / OFF button (10)
•
Remove the battery (16) by pressing on the releasing plates (17)
•
Lift the small lever of the locking nut (3) and rotate it anticlockwise till loosening the front guard (5) which presses
on the bar (2).
•
Turn the adjusting screw (4) clockwise by means of a screwdriver until the chain correct tensioned.
•
Rotate the small lever clockwise till tightening the front guard (5) on the bar (2). Then lower the small lever.
IMPORTANT!
If the chain (1) is new, it requires a break-in period during which its tension must be checked more often.
6.1.2 Replacing the chain or the cutting bar
Perform the following operations in sequence:
•
Switch off the tool by means of the ON / OFF button (10) and remove the battery (16) by pressing on the releasing
plates (17).
•
Lift the small lever of the locking nut (3) and rotate it anticlockwise till the front guard (5) can be removed.
•
To loosen the chain (1), turn the adjustment screw (4) anti-clockwise until it stops.
•
Remove the bar (2) and the chain (1) to be replaced.
•
Insert the tabs of the chain transmission teeth into the groove of the bar. The arrows on the connecting links, in the
upper part of the bar, must be directed towards the bar tip.
•
Position the bar (2) and chain (1) on the tool, making sure that:
-
the chain drive links are inserted on the pinion teeth
-
the slot (21) in the bar is inserted in the drive on the tool body.
-
the pin of the chain tensioner (22) is inserted in the hole of the bar.
•
Reassemble the front guard (5) and screw the small lever of the locking nut (3) clockwise without tightening it.
•
Tension the chain by turning the adjusting screw (4) clockwise, so that it is well tensioned and can be easily moved
manually.
•
When the correct tension is reached, rotate the small lever till tightening the front guard (5) on the bar. Then lower
the small lever.
