VCT Time Tab
Last Date/Time from Unit.
The ideal method of setting the Vertex's internal time clock is
retrieving it from National Time Servers (NITS). This can only occur if the Data Gateway MAC
address is correct and a valid DNS server is listed.
If the NITS transaction does not occur, the Vertex will obtain the current time and date from the
VoIP SIP packets, if this information is present. Setting the Vertex time and date from the PC is
the last resort. This can be done from the
Tools
menu when the VCT is in an
Unlocked Mode
. If
the Vertex power is removed, the time and date is lost.
Time Offset.
The National Time Servers issue GMT time; set your time zone offset appropriately.
Daylight Saving Time.
The defaults for DST are
Enabled
with the USA dates. Complete flexibility
for DST is provided for international users.
Time Servers.
These are the defaults for the National Time Servers. These may be changed to a
direct IP address if a DNS server is unavailable.
