TRMMIM: Token Ring Management Module

TRBMIM: Token Ring Bridge/Management Module

The TRMMIM Token Ring Management/Media Interface Module extends the
management capabilities of the MMAC hub. Working in conjunction with other
management modules or intelligent repeaters, the TRMMIM offers the same
physical control and data management features of the TRMM for each
additional Token Ring network installed in the MMAC. It is used with the
TRMM for managing multiple Token Rings in the same MMAC hub. You may
use it with the EMME or EMM-E6 to manage Token Ring and Ethernet networks
in the same MMAC.

The TRBMIM is a Source Routing Bridge and Management Module which filters
traffic between two Token Ring networks while providing management for each
ring. It links Token Rings operating at different speeds and allows you to
expand a network beyond the maximum node count of a single ring. Like the
TRMMIM, the module can be used to manage additional Token Rings in
conjunction with the TRMM, or Token Ring and Ethernet in the same MMAC
hub. Several TRBMIMs can be installed in the MMAC to form a collapsed
backbone.

The TRBMIM provides an externally accessible station port to connect to
another hub for linking two Token Ring networks together. The port supports
IBM Type 1, 2, 6 and 9 Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) wiring or UTP cabling of
Categories 3, 4 or 5 using the TRMF-2 media filter.
