Loading Transfer Ribbon
1. To lift the printhead, rotate the printhead lever (1) clockwise until it stops.
2. Slide the roll of transfer ribbon (5) onto the ribbon supply hub (6) as far as
possible.
NOTICE !
Note which side of the transfer ribbon is coated with ink! When the
ribbon is inserted, the inked side must not be placed in contact with the
printhead! In figure 6c the solid line represents ribbon with ink on the
inner side, and the broken line represents ribbon with ink on the outer
side.
3. Rotate the knurled knob (7) clockwise to clamp the roll of transfer ribbon (5)
onto the ribbon supply hub (6).
4. Slide an empty cardboard core (2) onto the ribbon take up hub (3). Clamp
the core by rotating the knurled knob (4) clockwise.
5. Feed the transfer ribbon along the path as shown in Figure 6 c, then attach
it to the core (2) using adhesive tape or a label.
6. Turn take up hub (3) counter-clockwise until the ribbon in taut and without
any wrinkles.
For Apollo 1, first turn the lever (1) to a central position between the locked
and unlocked positions.
7. To lock the printhead, rotate the lever (1) back counter-clockwise.
