2.4.3 Glue gun:
The adhesive flows from a bulk
melter through a heated hose then
a filter (3) and into the application
head.
The adhesive is applied to the spine
from underneath as soon as the
control module Application module
(4) is triggered (opened).
The control module Retrosuction
module (5) sucks the adhesive out
of the application slit (1) as soon as
the application module closes.
This ensures exact adhesive edges.
The guide (2) adjustment is done
automatically in acordance to the
booklet width.
2.4.4 Cover clamp:
The cover clamp module places the cover over the book's spine.
The cover clamp jaws apply the cover centrally
in relation to the book so as to obtain a straight
book with a square spine.
Procedure:
1. The cover is first applied to the spine of the
book (pressure along the spine).
2. The cover is then pressed to the side,
folding it around the edges of the book
(lateral pressure).
