BW RDS2 - QuickStart Guide:

2.0 RDS2 SETUP
2.1. RDS2 Contents
On opening the box check that you have received the following parts:

1U BW RDS2 Encoder
2.
IEC Mains Lead
3.
RS232 extension cable
4.
RDS2 Software CD
In order to correctly connect the encoder to a BW transmitter you will also require 2x BNC
cables.(not supplied)
2.2 Installing Software
The included software will operate best on Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems.
Insert the CD and navigate to BW_RDS2. Double-click on ‘Setup’ to start the install.
Choose the folder where you would like the program to be installed.
Follow prompts until the install is complete.
2.3 Connecting the BW RDS Encoder to your computer
Connect the RS232 cable supplied to a 9-pin serial connection (COM Port) on your computer and to
the 9-pin connection on the back of the RDS2.
Check the switches on the back of the RDS2. The first switch should be ‘on’ and all others should
be ‘off’. This sets the RDS2 for serial communications at 9600 baud.
2.4 Communicating with the RDS
With the RS232 cable connected, start the BW RDS2 software. The following screen will be seen.
