3.2 PSN PAGE Configuration
The RDS2 has 10 Pages of PSN information that can be programmed into memory. Each page has
50 lines that can contain up to 8 characters. A PSN schedule can then be created to activate
different pages at different times.
At any point in time one PSN page will be ‘active’ and will remain ‘active’ unless another page is
set ‘active’ by the user clicking the ‘Make Active’ button, or the PSN scheduler changes the active
page according to the programmed schedule.
The PSN page will look like the following:
Lines with valid RDS characters will be greyed out. If an active page has more than one line of text
the BW RDS2 will broadcast each line in sequence for the time indicated (1 – 99secs).
3.2.1 Configuring a Static PSN
Many stations only require one static PSN message to be displayed. This can be configured in the
RDS2 by filling only one line in one of the 10 pages and then configuring that page to be active at
all times. Follow these steps to configure a static PSN using PSN Page 1.
Ensure the tab selected is Page1.
Click on the ‘Read’ button in the bottom right-hand corner to read the PSN information from the
RDS2. A new RDS unit will have no entries. If anything does appear, click the ‘Clear’ button to
clear all entries.
In the first cell in the first column (1-10), enter your Program Station Name (PSN). This can only be
8 characters (including spaces). Once you have entered the text in the cell, click on another cell or
