Replacing shear bolt of the shear bolt coupling
The gearbox is protected by a shear bolt coupling. Shear bolts must be replaced when broken.
1.
Switch off the motor and secure against inadvertent
restarting. Refer to the operating manual of the
overall plant for this purpose.
2.
Eliminate the cause of the overload (e.g. foreign
objects).
3.
Open the assembly openings on the guard.
4.
Remove the rest of the shear bolt (1).
5.
Turn the drive train so that the holes of the coupling
halves (2) and (3) align.
6.
Replace the shear bolt (1) with a bolt with an equiv-
alent rating (8.8).
7.
Close the assembly opening.
