Connect DVR to Network
Use the chart below to record the information you will need in the following instructions.

1. Set up user name and password according
to
Password Settings on page 15.
2. Connect DVR to Router via Ethernet
Cable (sold separately).
Note:
If you are not familiar with your
router, contact your Router’s Manufacturer
or Internet Service Provider.
3. Find out if you have a Static or
Dynamic external IP Address.
a. If Static, get external IP address (It can
usually be found on the router's WAN
settings page, but your router may differ),
fill in the chart, then
go to step 4.
b. If Dynamic, set up DDNS Service.
Set up DDNS
• Go to
Network > DDNS
•
DDNS:
Set to
Enable.
•
Server:
Sign up online with one of the
services on the drop-down list.
• Follow instructions on DDNS service's
website to finish setup.
• Click
DDNS Test
button to check the connection.
• Fill in the chart with
DDNS Host Name.
Changes will be saved when you
click Apply then OK.
Changes will not be saved if you click
Exit or right click on screen.
Click Default to restore default settings.
