SMART MATRIX Error Messages
During the normal operation, the SMART MATRIX display will show CONTROL XXXX (where XXXX is the
number of active sensors).
In case of errors or detection failures, the CONTROL XXXX indication will be replaced by a message which
summarizes the type of error or failure occurred.
The error and failure messages can be classified as follows:
Errors detected by the SMART MATRIX power-on self-diagnostics

EEPROM Memory error
Press RESET to clear the alarm. All the
EEPROM configuration parameters will be reset
to default values.
RAM CRC
ERROR
RAM Memory error
Press RESET to clear the alarm. All the RAM
configuration parameters will be reset to default
values
TWI BUS
ERROR
Error on internal communication bus Replace the SMART MATRIX QUILT terminal
Errors detected on SM-DIN Boards
MESSAGE DESCRIPTION POSSIBILE SOLUTION
ERR RAM
SMDIN XX RAM memory error on SM-DIN
module with XX ID code
Press Reset to clear the error.
ERR EEP
SMDIN XX Eeprom memory error on SM-DIN
module XX ID code. Press Reset to clear the error. Then re-program
ID code and Baudrate on SM-DIN module.
ERR PRG
LEVEL XX
Sensor programming error

Press Reset to clear the error. If the error
occurred after a style loading, then re-load the
style.

Confirm ID code and Baudrate on SM-DIN
module, or check connection cables.

(The input status should be the same
for all SM-DIN modules, as the inputs
are physically connected in parallel.)
Confirm the connection of external input signals.
ERR SPD
SMDIN XX The PRX signal is too fast and it
cannot be correctly processed.
Increase the Prescaler value for PRX signal.
