To turn your answering
machine on and off
Your Synergy 1400 answering machine can be
turned on and off via the handset or base station.
Any messages present when the machine is
switched off are automatically saved.
If set to
OFF
the answering machine will not
answer an incoming call until after 20 rings, at
which point the answer machine will remain on.
This feature is designed to allow plenty of time
for calls to be answered and to provide a back-up
if you have inadvertently left the machine set to
OFF
or, for any reason, cannot take the call.
On/off via base station
The base station display will show the
current status of your Synergy 1400
answering machine. ‘
- -
’ indicates that it
is off, ‘
0
’ that it is on. If you have
received messages it will display ‘
n
’
(where
n =
the number of messages).
Press the
ANSWER ON/OFF
button.
The voice says
‘Answer off’
.
Display shows ‘
- -
’.
Pressing the button again will turn the
machine back on. Voice says ‘
Answer
on
’. Display shows ‘
0
’ or ‘
n
’ (where
n =
the number of messages).
The display on your handset will also
change to indicate the settings at the
base station.
