1.4. System 

Overview 

The CAG40D-MIN, which serves as an RU, comprises a card cage into which all 
cards required for operation are inserted. A CAG40D-MIN cage supports up to 
128 subscribers. 

The CAG40D-MIN can be installed with the MPU-x. The MPU-x (Mini Power 
Unit) contains a charger and backup batteries for powering the CAG40D-MIN. 

The CAG40D-MIN is supplied with a front door. The door assists in cooling the 
cards by blocking the cage’s front opening, so that the airflow is directed upwards, 
toward the cards. The door also protects the equipment, and contains a transparent 
plastic window that enables easy monitoring. 

The CAG40D-MIN cage with cards is shown in Figure 1.
